Fame & Wealth: Is it worth it?

A recap from Khabib Nurmagomedov Live in Malaysia 2024

Would you want to be rich and famous?

For some, that’s a no-brainer answer. But for public figures, they will hesitate to answer this question.

Let’s take Khabib Nurmagomedov for example, where he mentioned in his event, The Path of A Champion, that fame demands a burdensome price. As an MMA fighter, he is not easily shaken by things. But before the event started, he was not ready for the live interview session. This is because he has to be cautious of every single step he’s planning to take in order to prevent any mistakes.

Interviews reveal a lot about someone from their body language, personality, to their misspoken words. If you’re a public figure, one slip of the tongue can make you an instant meme or the Internet’s Most Hated Person of that month. Unfortunately, famous people are not given the same grace or level of forgiveness for their mistakes like the rest of society.

When regular people make a mistake, they don’t have their mistakes broadcasted all over the nation with an influx of strangers carrying pitchforks to torment them on social media.

Even though we are not celebrities, we too, should always conduct ourselves with grace and poise. As Muslims, we are taught that each step we take and every move we make are being watched by the Almighty.
